2011 Rookie of the Year Returns The Maine Red Claws announced on Tuesday that DeShawn Sims has rejoined the team. In addition to capturing the Rookie of the Year honors, Sims, 24, earned a spot in the 2011 NBA D-League All-Star Game and finished second overall in scoring last season (first among rookies) with 20.3 points per game.
Dakota Picks up Leo Lyons in Three-Team Trade Dakota acquired All-Star forward Leo Lyons from Austin on Tuesday in a three-team trade that also included Springfield. Dakota gets Lyons and his 16.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, while Springfield received a second-round pick back from Dakota and Austin received Josh Davis from Springfield.

Jerry Smith Named Player of the Month Springfield Armor guard Jerry Smith has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in February. Smith, who was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week on Feb. 6, led Springfield to a perfect 8-0 record in February, averaging 22.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 35.4 minutes.
